2012 Race Effort

I'm very pleased that Randakk's Cycle Shakk has renewed the partnership with ace roadracer Dennis Parrish of Rio Rancho, NM as my competition partner for 2012.

Racer Bio:

Dennis is a 57 year-old grandfather who's been indulging in his passion for motorcycles for over 40 years. He started racing in 1974 and has competed in flat track, motocross, desert racing, roadracing and even ice racing! In 1975 he worked as a motorcycle mechanic for Honda and Kawasaki dealerships in the Pacific Northwest for 10 years before joining the military and is now an engineer for a leading computer chip firm.

Dennis started roadracing a vintage '74 Kawasaki Z1 in 2002 and won his local club's Historic Vintage class championship. He started racing nationally with AHRMA in 2003, winning back-to-back Vintage Superbike class championships in 2003 and 2004 along with local and regional class championships. He has finished in the top four nationally for AHRMA Vintage Superbike and Formula Vintage classes most years.

Dennis holds expert roadrace licenses with AHRMA (#490), CCS (#49) and SMRI (#49).

For 2012 Dennis will be competing in AHRMA's Vintage Superbike and Formula Vintage classes on his '81 DOHC four cylinder Hondas. He's also competing in regional and local series on his '74 Kawasaki Z1 in Historic Vintage and Super Vintage classes. If you're looking for Dennis in the pits, don't look for the small fast guy - look for the 6'3" guy in a Randakk's Cycle Shakk T-Shirt!

Note from Randakk - I'm sure many of you may be freaking out now that I'm sponsoring a Kawasaki since I'm known as a Honda guru. Actually, the Z1 is one of my favorite bikes. I'm sure that it will be much faster now that it's equipped with Randakk's Amazing Grips!

2008 Race Effort:

Bummer! Tom crashed twice during practice in Australia and was unable to get the bike sufficiently repaired to make the grid in any of the heats. That's racing!

Fortunately, Tom's injuries were minor. Hopefully, Tom will have better luck in his next event.

Randakk's is pleased to announce associate sponsor relationship with Team Eyeball Engineering Race Team for '08 Australia Assault

Team Eyeball Engineering is the race team of Dr. Thomas Marquardt of Granby, Colorado. "Dr. Tom" is well know in vintage Honda circles. He has campaigned CBXs and other vintage Hondas with distinction in numerous road racing series.

Dr. Tom has been invited to participate in a prestigious vintage road race series in Australia in January, 2008. Tom will represent AHRMA in the International Challenge for Vintage Superbikes.

This series is hotly contested. I'm certain that the addition of Randakk's Cycle Shakk decals will cause a quantam leap in performance! Seriously, this machine is a very nice piece and Tom is an accomplished pilot. With decent luck, he should do quite well.

These races will be held on the infamous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Tom will be putting together a recap article in an upcoming issue of the CBX Xpress Magazine. I plan to document his exploits here as well.

The Island Classic runs January 26 - 28, 2008 and celebrates a grand tradition of historic motorcycle racing. This is the fifteenth annual running of the event. Randakk's is pleased to provide assistance for this effort and wishes Dr. Tom great success in Australia! Stay tuned for results.
