These modern regulator rectifiers are the best way to revive your original charging system. If you're still running the stock unit it's bound to be out of spec or worse. Likely over or under charging, making your system work harder and wear out sooner. If you want to keep it all original or just aren't ready to upgrade the whole charging system, these OEM style reg/rec's are a perfect replacement.
